Imparto clases de inglés, literatura y traducción en la Universidad de Murcia, como profesora asociada, desde 2011. Pero no hace falta hacer un Grado en traducción para que te cuente lo que sé. También imparto formación y talleres prácticos (tanto presencial como online) en empresas y para colegas de profesión que quieren mejorar sus habilidades, especialmente en lenguaje inclusivo .

How shall we proceed with your translation?

Learn about the process

  • First contact. Let’s talk for about 10 minutes. We can do this over the phone or Zoom. Or, if you prefer, you can send a detailed email, with your deadline, topic, target audience, languages you need, etc. This consultation, which I offer free of charge, is a great opportunity for us to understand your needs and does not commit you to anything.
  • Quote and OK. I will send you a detailed quote with deliverables, deadlines and pricing. After you confirm, I will block my schedule for you and start working. This is also an excellent time to send any documentation you may have (such as style guides) and introduce me to a contact from your organization who can answer questions regarding the text.
  • Translation. My favourite part! Feel free to keep in touch during this phase.
  • Delivery and evaluation. We can have a short talk after delivery to check how everything went and answer any queries about the text. This is a crucial part of the process, ensuring we all learn from each event and continuously improve the services.

Business and marketing

In what feels like a past life, I founded and directed companies that won six entrepreneurship awards. Old habits die hard and you can trust me with your marketing, finance or grants texts.

Code translation

I’m fluent in HTML and LaTeX and can work directly with source code in Python or PHP. Any format that OmegaT can read, I can translate.

This is the topic of my PhD and many of my activism, conferences and teaching work.

I can generally work at a steady pace of 2000 words per day.

Sure. I can translate practically any format. Plus I can edit texts embedded in HTML, LaTeX or Python directly.

No. But I can, however, bring other colleagues in to help, which is the usual practice in the translation business.

My level of English and Spanish is C2. I interpret from English into Spanish and from Spanish into English. I prefer to translate into Spanish only.

I do not consider my level German (C1) or Greek (A2) good enough for translation assignments, but they are handy in travel situations with clients.

Yes. All translators work with a network of colleagues who can help with topics or languages a single freelancer could not cover. In my 20 years in translation and interpreting, I have worked with several highly skilled professionals, and I am happy to recommend them.
